Whitey’s Ice Cream unveils two new flavors

Whitey’s Ice Cream, a popular local ice cream store, revealed two new flavors on Sept. 22. The new flavors are joining the year-round flavors and Whitey’s four seasonal flavors.

Mint Cookie Crunch is one of the newly created flavors, joining more than 30 other types. The ice cream is mint flavored and includes a chocolate cookie revel with mint flavor. Mint Cookie Crunch also has chunks of Oreo cookies.

The second new flavor is Chipotle Chocolate. It is a chocolate flavored ice cream with chipotle fudge. The flavor is one of the most unique that Whitey’s has offered.

Will Luebke, a sophomore who has worked at Whitey’s Ice Cream for three months, said, “Chocolate Fudge Brownie is my favorite Whitey’s flavor, but it changes.”

Chocolate Fudge Brownie is a fan favorite due to its intense chocolate taste. The ice cream is dark chocolate flavored with fudge and brownie pieces.

Whitey’s Ice Cream is also offering four seasonal flavors for fall and winter. The flavors are Pumpkin, Peppermint Oreo, Carrot Cake, and Red Velvet Cake. For many, the seasonal flavors are favorites.

Luebke said, “Peppermint Oreo is my favorite seasonal flavor.”

Whitey’s Ice Cream has nine locations in the Quad Cities. They will be offering seasonal flavors until the end of winter.
