Officer airlifted to Iowa City after stolen garbage truck rams into squad car in Blue Grass


BLUE GRASS (Bettendorf Growl) — A police officer was seriously injured after his squad car was rammed by a stolen garbage truck during a police pursuit on Highway 22 near Blue Grass, Monday.

The unidentified officer was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Davenport Police Department and the Scott County Sheriff's Office were both involved in the pursuit, but authorities are not confirming which agency the injured officer was with.

The driver of the stolen garbage truck was also injured and transported to the officer with non-life threatening injuries.
