Academic Letter Award 2016
On Wednesday, Dec. 13, students who earned a 3.4 G.P.A. or higher for two consecutive semesters will receive the academic letter award.
Students earning the award for the first time will receive an Academic Letter and from then on, students can earn a gold bar to signify continued academic excellence.
In the previous year, over 400 students were recipients of this award.
Senior Kaitlyn Burkamper has received the Academic Letter award all three years. She believes the award is a good incentive, and that “it looks good on college applications and scholarships.”
Senior Hazel Ambort has also earned the award for a third year.
“It's nice to be recognized for your achievements,” Ambort said.
Families of the students are invited to watch the ceremony taking place in the high school gymnasium at 7 p.m.
