WATCH: Alex Trebek addresses leave of absence from 'Jeopardy!' following surgery

'Jeopardy!' host Alex Trebek addressed a recent surgery he received over the holiday break in a video released by the game show on Thursday evening.

Trebek underwent surgery due to a subdural hematoma, blood clots on the brain, that he says were caused by a fall he had about two months ago.

Trebek says in the video that he spent two days in the hospital before arriving at home for recovery.

The prognosis is 'excellent,' Trebek said, and he hopes to be back in the studio soon.
