One dead in I-280 accident following head-on collision on freeway

One person was killed following a head-on collision on I-280 Wednesday morning.

Officials say that a Ford "box" truck was travelling on I-280 westbound before losing control and crossing the median, striking a Dodge pickup truck travelling eastbound.

Three people from the box truck and one from the pickup were transported to Trinity West; however, details regarding the fatality in the accident are not known.

The eastbound freeway remained closed for sometime on Wednesday morning, but has since been reopened.
