Winter Storm Warning in effect as massive storm pushes towards Metro

A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday through 6 p.m. Friday as a massive storm barrels towards the Quad Cities.

The first effects of the snow will arrive about 3 p.m. on Thursday which could leave up to an inch on the ground for the evening commute.

Snow will really pick up around midnight for areas north of the Metro; however, by the morning commute, the storm will shift south towards the Metro.

Most of the heaviest of the snow will fall Friday morning into midday. 6-8" is possible, with up to 10"+ in some areas.

This high impact event will cause trouble for both the morning and evening rush hour commute for Friday.
