One dead in vehicle/ motorcycle accident near Kimberly and Pine

The Davenport Police Department says one is dead following an accident involving a motorcycle Sunday evening.
Davenport Police, Fire and Medic EMS responded to the intersection of Pine St. and 38th Pl. at about 7:22 p.m. Sunday for a vehicle/motorcycle crash.
According to the Davenport Police Department press release, "Initial investigation revealed a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on Pine St. through the intersection with Kimberly Rd. Several witnesses report the motorcycle was travelling at a high rate of speed into a residential area." "A passenger car was driving eastbound on 38th Pl., attempting to turn north onto Pine St. as the motorcycle approached this uncontrolled intersection. The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle lost control, began to go into a slide as it struck the driver’s side, front corner of the passenger car as it entered Pine St.," the release reads. The operator of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was transported to Genesis Hospitals. He later died as a result of these injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the accident.
Identities of involved parties are not being released at this time pending proper notification of next of kin.
