NHS led blood drive is back

Gathering over a hundred students to save lives via blood donations, the National Honor Society hosted a blood drive on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

With first time donors and seasoned veterans, the drive successfully garnered 103 pints of blood with the help of NHS members and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, which is celebrating 40 years.

Parker Knight, who was in charge of the committee that hosted the blood drive, believed the success was largely due to a lack of deferrals and a lot of first-timers as a lot of third years no longer need parental consent.

A first time donor, Luis Sanchez said that his donation process went smoothly and he will definitely be donating again, especially with the convenience of hosting the drive at the school.
