The newspaper editor and yearbook editors for 2018-2019 have been named.

Ty Callahan, senior, has been named Growl and Bettgrowl.org editor. Although Callahan is new to journalism, he brings a wealth of business experience to the position, including leadership positions on the cross country team and robotics team. Callahan has expressed a number of ideas for improving readership of Bettgrowl.org, including a redesign of the website.
“Ty’s enthusiasm and data-based ideas impressed me from the beginning. We have already noticed an uptick in the number of readers on Bettgrowl.org,” said Connie King, newspaper and yearbook advisor.
Senior Chloe Johnson and sophomore Shannon Evans are the yearbook editors. Evans was part of the yearbook staff during the 2017-2018 school year, so she brings experience to the job. Johnson is new to journalism, but has nearly completed a spread (two pages) in the yearbook, a spread she designed.
The yearbook theme is “A Touch of Gold.” Both editors contributed to the decision about the theme, and both developed the design to be used throughout the book. This collaboration led King to the decision that both should be editors.
“Not only are they creative individuals, but both Chloe and Shannon show initiative and enthusiasm for the yearbook,” King said.
