Putting weeks of practice to the test, the Bettendorf orchestra and band put on a fantastic show on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The string orchestra was a particular hit, having practiced for a little over an hour a day over the course of a month.
A first chair violin, Carter Wolf thoroughly enjoyed being able to play with the eighth-grade orchestra as well.
“It’s really good to be able to play music,” Wolf said.
Peter Hurd, who is a first chair double bass, assisted the music department in setting up for the concert during third block and into PRIDE. The orchestra also took the opportunity to rehearse during fourth block.
The concert was positively received, putting the audience in a very festive mood with their holiday oriented songs.
“It was a nice showcase of the talent transitioning from the eighth grade to the high school,” said Chris Saito, the band director.
