Audio Intensity, Bettendorf’s prep show choir group, made history with a grand champion trophy on Feb. 16 at El Paso Gridley. Surround Sound made its own history with its second-highest placing in the history of being a show choir group (after taking first runner up last week at Keokuk).
Audio Intensity competed as a Tier ll school against Watseka Sensations, Hoopeston New Direction, and Burlington B*Jazzled. The group was very excited to have placed so high in a non-prep division setting.
“I'm just so proud to know that I was a part of something that has accomplished so much. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come, and I can’t wait to experience show choir more in the future,” Audio Intensity member Anna Walraven said.
Surround Sound’s improvement has created a rush of excitement for the future of Bettendorf show choir and the exposure it is receiving.
“We are changing everyone’s view on show choir,” Surround Sound crew member Eric Eastland said.
It placed third beating Manteno Magic, Sullivan Singers, and Eisenhower Express.
Surround Sound and Audio Intensity prepare for their last competition of the season at Marion Masquerade this coming Saturday, Feb. 23.

Audio Intensity member Elizabeth Koehler receives the grand champion trophy on behalf of Audio Intensity.
