Bulldog Profile: Emilie Gist

It doesn’t seem to matter the activity. Emilie Gist participates in most of them. Anywhere from softball to NHS, Gist is leaving a positive impact on the communities around her.

The school day starts early and ends late for Gist. Over the winter she attends either FCA or NHS on Wednesday mornings and participates in basketball after school until 6 in the evening.

Along with her leadership in FCA and NHS, Gist was a captain of the girls varsity basketball team In her senior campaign.

Gist does not only challenge herself in extracurriculars but also in the classroom. In her four years, she has taken many of the schools Honors and AP courses.

“Grammar Writing and AP Calculus were difficult,” said Gist about her biggest academic challenges.

Gist’s teachers also acknowledge her energy in the classroom. No matter where Gist participates she puts forth her best effort.

“Excellent student. Excellent athlete. Participates in anything and everything. Always shows enthusiasm in everything she does,” said Connie King, Grammar Writing teacher.

As Gist finishes her successful career at the high school, she plans to further her education at Wheaton College by majoring in Engineering and minoring in Spanish. She is also going to play collegiate softball after her high school career is over.
