Boys track wins Ira Dunsworth Relays

On Thursday, April 4, the boys track team won the Ira Dunsworth Relays. Fresh off of their Deac Ryan Relays win on Tuesday, the victory marked the team's second win in two days. This was the Bulldogs' second win of Ira Dunsworth in the last three years.
The Bulldogs were led by strong running performances from Austin Kalar, Leo Desequeira, Darien Porter, and Brendan Scott. After Porter won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.10 seconds, Desequeira finished second in the 200 with a time of 23.09 seconds. Leading the distance team, Scott finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:00.41.
Bettendorf continued its excellence in the field events, led by strong performances by both throwers and jumpers. Carter Bell finished second in the long jump with a jump of 21 feet-5 1/2. In shot put, Alex Blizzard and Griffen Deere finished in first and second place. Blizzard threw for 45 feet-11, while Deere threw for 45 feet-10. In discus, Nile Ridenour finished fourth with a throw of 132 feet-7.
The Bulldogs will be back on the track next Thursday for the Jesse Day Relays.
