Community Conservation Club plans Earth Day event

Community Conservation Club is hosting an event to celebrate Earth Day (April 22). The event will include planting wildflowers, picking up litter, and removing invasive species of plant life.
Earth Day was created in 1970 as a day for American citizens to protest the lack of government regulation against pollution and destruction of the environment. It was successful and the Environmental Protection Agency was created that year.
CCC’s event will take place on Earth Day during PRIDE, in Spencer Mesick’s room C302, and after school from 3:30 to 5:00.
All students are welcome to help out, and dinner and a reusable water bottle will be provided to those that volunteer.
If you plan to attend, wear clothes that will protect your skin, such as long sleeves and pants, and that you do not mind getting dirty. For the invasive plant removal, waterproof boots are recommended.
“Anybody can come, and I would highly recommend it,” said Charlotte Barnes, secretary for the CCC.
