This year, Andrea Cooper and Mariah Chapdelaine, the directors of Surround Sound and Audio Intensity, plan to hold a camp for fourth through sixth grade students who want to try show choir. The camp, Little Bulldogs Show Choir Camp, will take place Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The students will put together a show during the day to which families will be welcomed back to watch after 3 p.m.
“I am excited to see the current BHS students share their excitement, joy, and love of show choir to future BHS show choir students,” Cooper said. “I’m not sure how many songs we will teach the younger students yet; it depends on how many students sign up.”
Chapdelaine is also very excited for the camp.
“I think the students will enjoy making new friends, dancing, singing, and pizza,” Chapdelaine said.
Students should also expect to interact with current high school show choir students.
“The choreography will be taught by directors and current BHS show choir students that are selected to help,” Cooper said.
The cost will be $30 per student which includes a t-shirt and a pizza lunch. Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 1, and can be done online here or submitted to the high school’s activities office with cash or a check in an envelope with the student’s name on it.
Chapdelaine encourages everyone to follow @bettchoirs on Twitter and Instagram for any updates.
Cooper said, “Please encourage any fourth to sixth grade students you know to attend this awesome event. They will have a great time.”
