This year, many students are looking forward to dancing the night away at Prom on May 4, 2019. The dance lasts from 8:30 p.m. - 11 p.m. The dance will be followed by APE (the After Prom Event). Although the dance is fun, the students may not want to stay the whole time. So, what will the students do between the dance and APE?
1. Go out to a second dinner.
There are many places in the Quad Cities that are open 24 hours. Students and their friends can eat a second dinner at Ross’ (2297 Falcon Ave, Bettendorf, IA 52722), any McDonalds, or Steak ‘n Shake (5229 Elmore Avenue, Davenport, IA 52807). Taco Bell, while not open 24 hours, is open until 2 a.m.
2. Go for a bike ride.
Emma Doyle says, “My favorite bike path is Leach Park trail because it’s down by the river and has lovely views. It is an 8/10, and I would recommend.”
Doyle admits she would go on a bike ride in between prom and APE as long as she is able to wear her dress while biking.
3. Play frisbee golf.
Frisbee golf is a fun way to be active and to have fun with your friends. Parks on Eastern Avenue and Middle Road have frolf courses. Grab some frisbees and some friends and you’re guaranteed to have a great time!
4. Hit up Walmart.
With every product you could want, Walmart is a fine place to explore in your fancy get-up.
5. Go to Whitey’s (as long as you go before 11 p.m.)
Nothing is better than ice cream at 10:30 p.m. Whitey’s closes at 11 p.m. but before then students can enjoy some gourmet ice cream on the big night.
6. Watch a Star Wars movie.
May the fourth be with you! Celebrate this iconic day with your favorite Star Wars movie, or by recreating your favorite scenes! Just don’t actually lose your hand!
Whatever happens this prom season, remember to be safe and have a great time!
