Bulldog football defeats the Mustangs in home opener 49-7

The Bettendorf Bulldogs defeated Dubuque Hempstead at the first home game of the season on Sept. 13..

Neither team scored in the first quarter, but nearly seconds into the second quarter, Harrison Bey-Buie scored a touchdown. Reed Shea, the kicker, earned the extra point.

Later in the second quarter, Joe Byrne found Tynan Numkena for another touchdown. With less than a minute left in the first half, Tyler Pate scored a touchdown off the punt return.

The Bulldogs continued to power through in the third quarter. Bey-Buie had two touchdowns towards the end of the quarter.

To finish off the game, Zach Trevino scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, making the score 49-7.

The Bulldogs will take on Cedar Falls at home next Friday night.

Bettendorf and Dubuque go head to head.
