Girls swim eyes a state title

For the third consecutive year, the girls swim team remains undefeated within the MAC. Senior Sami Roemer credits the “strong bond and team dynamic” to the team’s success.

“Our team has great depth and every member is important. We put in more team effort than other schools because we really rely on every swimmer,” Roemer said.

After seven years of swimming and three appearances at the state swim meet, Roemer will compete this year in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Individual Medley, 100 backstroke and 400 Free Relay.

The girls swim team has placed third at state for the past three years and is determined to earn a higher placement this fall. The state meet will take place on Nov. 8-9 in Marshalltown. Spectators can view the Bulldogs at their home competition and senior night on Oct. 1.
