Katie Meyer, a new addition to the Special Ed department, teaches many subjects to students such as life skills, basic math, and basic reading.
A Bettendorf graduate, Meyer went to the University of Northern Iowa for her undergrad degree and received her master’s from St. Ambrose University.
“I decided to be a teacher because I love working with kids and I wanted to make a difference in their lives,” Meyer said.
Prior to teaching at Bettendorf, Meyer spent 15 years teaching at the elementary school level in the Davenport School District at Monroe, Madison, and Fillmore Elementary.
“I’m excited to experience the differences in teaching high school, and learn more about the post secondary opportunities for my students,” Meyer said.
Meyer has three children and a dog. They love to go camping, go swimming and go to the park.
