Cans stack up for start of Hunger Drive soliciting

Cash and cans are now being collected at grocery stores by solicitors for student council. Soliciting will continue through Nov. 1.

Student council representatives sign up for shifts between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Collection takes place Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Hy-Vee on Devils Glen Road and the Hy-Vee on East 53rd Street. Students also solicit at the Belmont Road Fareway on Tuesday and Thursday.

Progress on collection can be seen across from the Student Services office. Food will be stored in boxes in the hallway throughout Hunger Drive season.

Students will canvass in Bettendorf and Davenport after soliciting has ended, Nov. 2. This involves going door to door and asking for donations.
