Bettendorf hosts Fields of Faith

On Wednesday night, Oct. 9, the majority of the high school FCA clubs in the Quad City area gathered together at the Bettendorf High School football stadium.

The event was called Fields of Faith; the event consisted of music, games, food, and guest speakers.

The event’s objective is to raise faith in the lives of high school students.

FCA is a club that stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and meets every Wednesday morning. The club at Bettendorf meets in the PE classroom.

“I thought it was great, but I was not expecting the turnout we had!” said junior Sydney Hanson.

FCA ordered 150 Chick-fil-A sandwiches for the event, but because of the unexpected turnout the sandwiches quickly vanished.

“It was a very powerful night, and I enjoyed being able to gather with people who share the same faith,” said senior Madison Temple.

Athletes from the club use their Christian faith to help them weather their long sport seasons.

“I think in high school a lot of people tend to lose their faith in what they believe in, so this safe space shows us that we are not alone,” said Temple.

FCA offers high schoolers a space to share their faith with others and grow together. If you are interested in joining contact Christopher Adams or attend a Wednesday morning meeting.
